bactéria is a non-profit cultural association with the artistic direction of Cristina Planas Leitão, funded in May 2015, in Porto. It’s main goals are the production, promotion and diffusion of artistic and cultural activities of its associates, as well promoting the motivation of the general audience for the cultural performances and the exchange between other cultural institutions.
Since 2015, bacteria assumes the production and distribution of all the projects of Cristina Planas Leitão, namely FM [featuring mortuum] — with the support of the Ministry of Culture / Direção Geral das Artes, foundation GDA for touring and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in the context of the support for creation; the touring of bear me; The Very Delicious Piece (promoting the tour from 2015 onwards) andThe Very Delicious Piece XL and it’s participation in the final of the international competition Danse Élargie, at Théâtre de la Ville, Paris, receiving for that the financial support of Porto Municipality.
In 2017, receives the internationalization support from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and again the project support of Ministry of Culture / Direção Geral das Artes for UM [unimal].
The association also does the financial management of several other projects from artists such as, Ana Renata Polónia, Daniela Cruz and Flávio Rodrigues.
In curatorship, creates and coordinates, since 2016, Aquecimento Paralelo/ Parallel Warm up - a monthly audience mediation project, made for Teatro Municipal do Porto, and also the workshops Tal & Qual e do chão nascem coisas for the Foco Família 2017 and 2018 in the same institution.
